Manuel Olmedo Checa is a Spanish historian and industrial technical engineer. He has participated in studies and singular projects such as Integral Sanitation, Guadalmedina River, Periurban Parks, Alcazaba Tunnel or Gibralfaro Funicular in Málaga (Spain) He has studied Cánovas del Castillo, Rodríguez de Berlanga, José María de Sancha, Cristóbal Medina Conde or José Carrión de Mula, among others, and has researched the Port of Málaga, Historical Cartography, Infrastructures and Urban Planning. He has led the project to recover the biography of Bernardo de Gálvez and has published some 200 works. He has given some 100 lectures. He is the director of the magazine Péndulo, published by the Colegio de Ingenieros Técnicos Industriales, of which he is a member of the Colegio de Honor. First Prize for Cartographic Research in Andalusia, Cross of the Order of Military Merit, Numerary of the Malaga Academy of Sciences, member of the Forum for the Study of the Military History of Spain, Cross of Merit of the Civil Guard and Correspondent of the Royal Academy of History. English: This work is a new and important contribution to the knowledge of the great figure of Bernardo de Gálvez. It compiles no less than 35 works. The first of these is a manuscript by Bernardo de Gálvez himself, unpublished in Spain, and the rest, except one, are printed or manuscripts from the 18th century, preserved in libraries in Madrid, Seville, Mexico, Washington, New York, Louisiana, Texas, Massachusetts and in the General Archive of the Indies.
