Marta Harnecker
Description
Marta Harnecker es una autora marxista-leninista y socióloga chilena centrada en labores de análisis del movimiento obrero y de elaboración de abundante documentación formativa. Ejerció como asesora del gobierno socialista cubano, así como de colaboradora con los movimientos sociales de clase en Latinoamérica. Hija de inmigrantes austríacos, militó en el catolicismo durante su juventud pero, tras una primera toma de contacto con los resultados de la revolución cubana en 1960, y tras la prohibición de divulgar sus experiencias por su propios compañeros-, se alejó de Acción Católica. En 1962, obtuvo una beca para estudiar en Francia bajo la tutela de Louis Althusser, durante la cual abandondó totalmente sus orígenes religiosos en favor del socialismo científico. A su vuelta a Chile en 1968, comenzó su actividad en el Partido Socialista y se incorporó al movimiento estudiantil en la universidad pero, decepcionada por el cariz extremadamente teoricista de las discusiones en este ámbito, decidió redirigir sus esfuerzos en la formación marxista de obreros y campesinos. De su experiencia en estas labores se sintetizaron sus conocidos trabajos de divulgación marxista. Sus libros `Los conceptos elementales del materialismo histórico` y `Cuadernos de educación popular`, fueron ampliamente utilizado por los partidos comunistas y organizaciones obreras de los países hispanohablantes para la formación de sus militantes durante los años 70 y posteriores. Desde el año 1996, es colaboradora activa de `Rebelión`, donde tiene a disposición del público sus obras completas.
