A book of paper folding, tricks and paper tearing with each item introduced by the author in an interesting and conversational manner. A treasure trove of information and the intertwined history of paper and paper folding with magic.
Odds and ends, notices
Assorted newspaper articles, articles removed from magazines or books, a program, and 4 copies of The theatre carries on, by John P. Toohey. The items are laid into what appears to be the boards of a guest register for Central-Hotel, Berlin, Germany.
American magicians
Scrapbook assembled probably by Harry Houdini. Newspaper and magazine clippings, letters (chiefly addressed to Charles L. Burlingame and Jasper Bamberg), letterheads, handbills, programs, and brochures on magicians and mediums. More international than the cover title implies; material in English, French, Spanish, German, and other languages. Ms. annotations are in the hand of Houdini.

Scrapbook compiled by an unknown person of newspaper and magazine clippings on New York city. Only 8 p. of the scrapbook are used, the remainder blank. Later clippings on rare books, theatrical matters and 2 handbills are laid in. Some of the clippings annotated with the date in the hand of Houdini. Bookseller's label of F.F. Taylor, New York.

Scrapbook probably assembled by Harry Houdini. Newspaper clippings (a few from clipping services) and a few magazine clippings on magicians, mediums, hypnotism, and daredevils. Handbills and posters advertising performances, some in color. A few photographs, several of which are formal portraits, and envelopes addressed to Charles L. Burlingame (one of the companies operated by H.J. Burlingame) and H.J. Burlingame. Some materials annotated in Houdini's hand; autographed, p. 13. Ca. 100 p. are blank. A leaf of ms. notes (in Houdini's hand) on the scrapbook itself is laid in.

Scrapbook assembled probably by Harry Houdini. Magazine clippings of magic tricks, chiefly from English publications; ca. 72 pages are blank. Laid in are 34 p., apparently from another scrapbook, of newspaper and magazine articles on various magicians, dated from 1898 to 1907. Autograph of Houdini on p. of cover.

Scrapbook assembled by Harry Houdini from materials sent to him by R. (Ralph?) Evans. Four ALS letters mounted on p. of cover and front fly-leaf to Houdini from R. Evans, London, dated 15 Jun. 1909, 4 Aug. 1909, 13 Feb. 1914, and 14 Jun. 1914, enclosing clippings collected by Evans. Clippings are from books, magazines, and newspapers, and are on magicians and occult subjects. Pages 83-156 blank.
Occult science
Scrapbook assembled by an anonymous person and/or Harry Houdini. Newspaper clippings on spiritualism and the occult are pasted on an old manuscript correspondence record; the clippings are dated between 1871 and 1892, what is still visible of the manuscripts have the dates of 1872 and 1873. The ms. record is of a building or roofing bids, with the letters signed C.W. Cumins (or Cummins), Brooklyn, and sometimes signed for F[rank] W. Doughty.
