It is clearly written and contains maps, illustrations and anecdotes intended to hold the interest of English-language readers, ages 10 to 15. In spite of its age, the book is still informative. The author's narrative is accurate, vivid and detailed and gives the reader a excellent snapshot of Puerto Rican life and culture before the introduction of North American influences. Recommended for all ages.
