From the Files of Madison Finn
Madison goes to New York City to celebrate the thirteenth birthday of her friend Lindsay.
Picture Perfect
Pediatrician Lorrie Ryan is looking forward to taking her young hemophiliac nephew, Davey, camping while his parents fly to Florida. The family has been under FBI protection because Davey's father is testifying for the prosecution in a case involving a murdered student and a drug syndicate. Lorrie is glad to spend time alone with the boy because her sister seems more mothering of her professor husband than her son, and Davey is glad to be with Aunt Lorrie because she lets him be himself rather than try to conform to his mother's rigid standards. But their idyll is brief: Davey disappears. Lorrie calls the police and FBI agent Stuart Sanders, and she and Stuart unite in their search for the missing boy, who needs his daily injections.
Heart to heart
Mike Harkin is one lucky guy. Not just because he's miraculously survived a traumatic accident, but because he's finally met the elusive Ms. Right: the surgeon who saved his life. Dr. Catherine Cady doesn't know it yet, but Mike is about to transform himself into a man who's worthy of the second chance she's given him -- and worthy of a woman like her… The only bedside Catherine intends to share with Mike is in the hospital. It's not that she isn't powerfully attracted to his decadent good looks -- after all, she's only human. Still, a roguish casino mogul is hardly husband material -- even if he does seem to have become an overnight philanthropist. The more Catherine struggles to resist his devilish charm, the more tempted she is to celebrate the life she saved -- by agreeing to share the rest of it.
Double Dare
Casey Clinton was in a bind. Custody courts didn't favor single fathers, and he seemed perilously close to losing his beloved nephew. What he needed was a wife. And since his childhood buddy Joanna Vail had always stood by his side through thick and thin, why shouldn't she stand beside him at the alter too? Long-standing loyalty demanded Joanna wed Casey...something completely different drew her to his bed. But adult urges upset childhood chumminess, and emotions more daring than mere desire threatened their camaraderie. Had Joanna gone and fallen in love with her husband? And could either admit their commitment had more than a practical purpose?
