James Barter

James Barter was born in Berkeley California, graduated from Berkeley High School (1964) and then the University of California in Berkeley (1968) majoring in classical languages and ancient history, attended graduate school at the University of Pennsylvania, and studied at the American Academy in Rome. Mr. Barter has published numerous books on European history and currently resides in Berkeley, Ca where he continues to write and lecture
