The photos of the Farm Security Administration of the 1930s, in an unprecedented feat, documented an entire land and its people. Of the 270,000 photos taken between 1937 and 1943, under the enthusiastic goading of Roy Stryker, hundreds today are considered masterpieces of photography worthy of exhibition and publication as art.
