Gene Kemp

Gene Kemp née Rushton (27 December 1926 – 4 January 2015) was an English author known for children's books. Her first, The Prime of Tamworth Pig, appeared in 1972. She won the British Carnegie Medal for her school novel The Turbulent Term of Tyke Tiler (1977).

Description

Tyke Tiler and Danny Price are best friends, much to the despair of the headmaster of Cricklepit Combined school, because wherever the pair go, trouble is never far behind. There are several unexpected surprises in their last term, when Tyke tries to help the hapless Danny stay out of trouble.
