Osteosarcoma (OS), or osteogenic sarcoma (OGS) (or simply, bone cancer) is a cancerous tumor in a bone. The final 18 months of her life she kept a tape recorded diary as a legacy for her young daughter. Inspired by this remarkable girl's story, and based closely on her diary, Universal Studios produced a stunning motion picture which will be remembered as an outstanding television event of 1973. It received rave reviews, and the New York Times called it "One of the Year's Best Specials."
