L. Murphy Johnson, Ph.D, was Associate Professor of Mathematics at Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff, Arizona, beginning in 1967. He received his B.S.Ch.E., M.A., and Ph.D. from the University of Texas. He authored numerous mathematics textbooks individually and as co-author with Arnold R. Steffensen.
