Description

Peter Chalmers Mitchell (November 23, 1864-July 2, 1945) was a Scottish zoologist and secretary of the Zoological Society of London from 1903 to 1935. During this time, he directed the policy of London's zoological gardens and created the world's first open zoological park, ZSL Whipsnade. He left a written record of his stay in Malaga during the Spanish Civil War.
