Moises Kaufman and fellow members of the Tectonic Theater Project made six trips to Laramie over the course of a year and a half in the aftermath of the beating [and death of Matthew Shepard] and conducted more than 200 interviews with people of the town. With the tenth anniversary of Matthew Shepard's death approaching, Moisés started thinking about legacy, transformation and Jonas' question: what had come out of Matthew's murder? So we decided to return to Laramie to ask may of our original interviewees how their town had changed.This play is the result of those interviews.
