Emeritus Professor, School of Social Sciences, Education and Social Work Bob managed the ERC funded cross European project on European Identities, a Director of Ark Belfast (a joint resource between the two Northern Ireland universities, established in 2000 to make social science information on Northern Ireland available to the widest possible audience) and is a founder member of ESA research network 3 on Biographical Perspectives on European Societies, serving as Chair between 1999-2003.
