Jean Fisher

First time exhibition in Mexico of the video art of Doherty (b. Northern Ireland) produced between 1993 and 2006 and includes one work created specially for the event. Two of the works were previously presented during the International Festival Cervantino celebrated in Guanajuato in 2006 and were part of the program where the United Kingdom was the invited country. This was an intenerate exhibition that was presented in various venues in Latin America. Doherty, twice Turner Prize nominee has mainly worked in photography and video.

This collection of writings by Jean Fisher traces the author's journey through the political and intellectual turbulence of the past 20 years and its impact on both artistic practice and the writing of art. Through her close study of Anglo/Irish and US/Native American colonial and contemporary relations, Fisher explores the effectiveness of artistic practice in the construction of political and subjective agency.
