The author includes an appendix with travel tips, including his exact expenses for each day--travel, food, courier, etc.--and advice on what helpful items to carry, specific people to hire, routes to take, where to buy clothes, etc. The remainder contains anecdotes similar to those found in other British traveler diaries.
