First, snooty Brenda Carlton tells the girls they have no chance of winning -- then the notebook in which they wrote their mystery disappears! The girls had a neat idea for a ghost story, and now another team may have stolen it. Things get weird when they find notes written in drippy red writing -- with words that come straight from their story! Is the make-believe mystery coming true?

Then Mr. Zuckerman tells the kids he has dreamed up the perfect candy. He even shows them the paper with the secret recipe. But when the visit is over, the recipe has disappeared and no one can find it! Is the greatest candy lost for good?

Their first stop is an aviary, a place filled with lots of birds, including Carmen, a beautiful hyacinth macaw from South America. But when Todd Steckler holds a creepy jar of beetles in Bess's face, she screams -- and Carmen flies the coop! Now the girls have to find Carmen before she's bird-napped. If they track down the bird, they'll be made Junior Park Rangers, but if they don't, they'll be three very unhappy campers!

Nancy and her friends are on a class trip to the zoo. Everyone brought a camera and is exicted because their teacher has announced a Best Photo contest. Whoever takes the best picture at the zoo wins a prize! The trip is going great until a flowerbed outside the monkey cage is wrecked and Nancy's class is blamed! The zookeeper is mad and says they might have to leave the zoo if someone doesn't come forward. Nancy is upset. Is one of Nancy's classmates a crook, or is someone else digging up trouble?

Sometimes one person's trash is another person's treasure The sign says No Early Birds, but everyone's already lining up for the neighborhood garage sale. Nancy and her friends are helping out. Each has already spotted something she wants, and they're all happy except Bess. She loves a beautiful ballerina painting, but it's too expensive -- and at least three other people are interested in it. Bess can't afford the ballerina unless she sells some of her old CDs -- fast! The girls are trying to help her when the painting suddenly disappears. Who took it? Was it a real treasure worth a fortune? Nancy has already lined up some big-name suspects. If she doesn't solve this one, her detective career will be trashed!
