Rupert MatthewsRupert Oliver Matthews (born 5 December 1961) is a British Reform UK politician serving as the Leicestershire Police and Crime Commissioner since 2021. He was elected as a Conservative Party candidate, initially in 2021 and then re-elected in 2024, before defecting to Reform UK in August 2025. He previously served as a Conservative Member of the European Parliament (MEP) for the East Midlands from June 2017 until his term ended on 1 July 2019, and has authored books on the paranormal.
