During a routine slaying, Buffy Summers runs into a small group of vampires who seem to be out for more than the usual bite-and-suck. As the vamps scatter, one of them stays behind willing to sacrifice itself to help the others escape. Though surprised -- vampires aren't exactly known for their generosity -- the Slayer doesn't waste time pondering the demon's motivation and kills it. Or so she think. But the next night a new vampire confronts the Chosen One and her friends. One who knows Buffy's name and can anticipate her basic attack. One who doesn't have the proper respect for Mr. Pointy. One whose name is Veronique. "She cannot die. Strike her down, but like the night she will always come again. And she will bring forth the end of Man...." Every time Buffy kills her, Veronique rises again in a new body. "Great. Instant replay." An invincible demon is the last thing the Slayer needs right now. Joyce Summers is about to undergo a serious operation, calling up all of her daughters fears about her own mortality. Angel wants to comfort Buffy, but her mother's crisis underscores the difference between them: he will live forever, while she will grow old...or die young. Torn between her duties as a daughter and as the Chosen One, Buffy will need the support of her friends to help her solve a rash of grave robberies, head off an influx of new vampires, and take Veronique down, once and for all. For Veronique is on a mission -- to bring about the unification of her masters, the Triumverate, into one all powerful demon who will drink the blood of the last man on earth....

"It's no surprise to Buffy and the Scoobs, then when Willow decides to pitch in with the drama club's latest produciton. Of course, Sunnydale being Hellmough Central, Willow soon discovers a link between drama and magick; in fact, many ancient Greek performances were actually invocations to the Gods. Spice, who in his pre-vamp days had been a great patron of the arts, confirms this fact. He also takes an unusual level of interest in Willow's extracurricular activities. When strange paranormal occurrences--and the appearance of a ghost or two--threaten Willow's safety ,the witch starts to wonder if it isn't time to exit, stage left....." -- Back cover.

Slayer duties caused Buffy to miss picking up her Yearbook, so Willow took it for her and enlisted the help of Xander, 0z, Cordelia, Giles, and Angel to make it truly special. Filled with personal notes, candid photos, and in-jokes about Slayerfest, Halloween, substitute teachers, the principal who was eaten, Ascension, etc. -- Buffy's Yearbook is part school publication, part memory book.

"Sacred duty, yadda yadda." -- Buffy Summers Buffy the Vampire Slayer has always held an irreverent attitude toward her calling, but ultimately she understands the ramifications of her destiny and is prepared to die to protect the world from Evil. In fact, she has died. Twice. "I remember the drill. One Slayer dies, another is called." -- Buffy Summers It's an ancient tradition, steeped in lore, mythology, and fateful prophecies. Slayerdom consists of a Council of Watchers, a continuum of slayers, an archive of journals, and even a handbook. "Handbook? What handbook? How come I didn't have a handbook?" -- Buffy Summers But first and foremost, it begins with a girl. One girl in all the world. A Chosen One. Now, catch up on other Slayers past and present, in the second short-story collection, Tales of the Slayer, Vol. 2! "[Another] Slayer? I knew this, 'I'm the only one, I'm the only one,' thing was just an attention getter." -- Xander Harris Volume includes these stories: 1. Book Review Reviewed by Anne B. for ReadersFavorite.com Our story began in a small village in 1157. Three strangers stepped out of a portal (Animat channel) on a mission. The town’s people hide in fear, only a dog and an old priest approached them. They were searching for the dark fog and the white mist. The priest warned them to stay away from the fog and mist; bad things happen to those enveloped by the fog. Two of the men had experienced the dark fog previously, but the Supreme Master had not. He doubted the words of the priest. The fog surrounded him and tried to draw him deeply in. If it were not for his companions, The Supreme Ruler would not have had the will to survive. The mist came next. It was very different from the fog but just as mystical. They heard a baby cry from within the mist. The Supreme Ruler himself carried the child to the Animat Channel. So begins Immortal. Magna Kruger presents readers with a mystical tale filled with suspense, magic and the supernatural. The story centers around two families: the Pendragons and Darcanians. We journey with young Aidan to The Village of Shamrock, a medieval town untouched by time, the home of the Academy for the Spiritually Gifted. We stand by Aidan’s side as he learns to master the four elements. Kruger skillfully created a mystical world. The world she created is certainly beyond anything I could ever imagine. The school for the Spiritually Gifted is fascinating. The characters are well developed and multidimensional. I suspect Aidan could become as popular as Harry Potter. I can hardly wait for the next installment of this series.

Tales of the Slayer, Vol. I (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)

A collection of original short stories based on the hit TV series created by Joss Whedon. Into every generation, a Slayer is born. One girl in all the world, to find the vampires where they gather, and to stop the spread of their evil and the swell of their numbers. In our time, that girl is Buffy Summers. But Buffy is merely one Slayer in an eternal continuum of warriors for the Powers That Be. We've known of others; The Primal Slayer, who stalked the earth and the forces of darkness in fierce solitude... Nikki, the funky hipster whose demise at Spike's hands lent an urban edge to his wardrobe and a bigger bounce to his swagger. Slayers by nature have a limited life expectancy; for each one who falls, another rises to take her place. Tales of the Slayer, Vol. 1, chronicles Slayers past who have influenced -- and are influenced by -- the traditions and mythologies of yore. From ancient Greece, to aristocratic Slayers holding court in revolution-era France, to the legend of the Bloody Countess Elizabeth Bathory, to 1920's Munich, each girl has a personal history, a shared moral code, and a commitment to conquer evil, regardless of the cost...
