Writing research papers

The topic of a research paper may often be one which, at least initially, you know very little about. At first the task may appear insurmountable: sources to be located, books and articles to be read, notetaking, footnoting of source material, outlining of the paper, writing, rewriting, typing, and proofreading. Perhaps at this point you will begin to question your ability to express yourself in English at all! Obviously, some kind of orderly process must be applied to the above procedure.
