Valley of the Ravens

Obeying her father’s deathbed wish, Sarah returns to live at the family mansion on Exmoor in Devon. She faces hostility, it being believed that her sister Felicity had eloped with the coachman’s son after stealing jewellery. Desperate to clear her sister’s name, Sarah finds that only her second-cousin Jerome is sympathetic. Jerome's wife is a permanent invalid, but Sarah cannot help loving him.
