Description

Mr. Abrams narrates this delightful, sardonic parody of the American public's fear of germs and illness. After the link between microbes and illness was validated, housewives went crazy over the enemy unseen: GERMS! Doctors were overrun with patients fearing these invisible greebles were attacking their bodies, causing plethora of symptoms. Abrams writes with a witty, breezy tone, as he describes a private association of medical doctors, post WWI talking about these very issues, but acting more like intellectual Monty Python members. The Antiseptic Club meets to discuss various life threatening issues posed by germs and disease; looking to eradicate bad germs and viruses worldwide. Using diabolically clever names and situations, Abrams uses clever nonsense to combat real world nonsense. Wonderful language and witty dialogue.
