Description
Miss Davis, whose The Voice on the Telephone (1964) was chilling enough, has produced another spidery tale about a homegrown blackmailer whose murder is particularly disrupting to the influential citizens of typical suburbia. The reader is allowed to be present at the scene of the crime and the choice of suspect is limited to four (or five?) females... which is the deadliest? The author's brand of suspense keeps the guesswork going until the last page. It's deadly insect-icide.
