The origins of the Bible

This study shows how and why the Christian Bible was fashioned during two epochs of crisis and reform: the first during the fifth to second centuries B.C.E. when the Hebrew scriptures were assembled; the second during the first and second centuries C.E. when these same scriptures were defended, supplemented, and reborn as the Bible of the church.
