Description

This edition has 366 numbered pages, other versions seem to have less pages. It has no location for the publisher on its title page, instead it has these words striked out by lauel leaves and also has an image of the painting "Napoleon's Cuirassiers at Waterloo" by Stanley Berkely, on the opposite side of the title page. On page 35 there is an image of "The Defense of the Longboyeau Gate" by A. de Neuville. 36 has two black and white pictures (Picture of bridge with man pushing cart and women following walking towards camera) above and ("French cavalry on the march through Ay.) below the text which starts as 'lization, the cafes'... Pages 298 and 299, have lower cityscapes with cutout images around their roofs. This is also done on pictures for 312, 313, and 314 with the sky edited out. * This publisher also has another alternate 360 page edition also dated 1914 book. It has the publishers listed as being in "New York and London", and says "Issued in Parts", on the title page. With an image of the painting "The Assassination of the Archduke Francis Ferdinand and His Wife in Sarajevo" by J. B. Hazelton, on the opposite side of the title page. On page 35 there is an photograph title "A Body of French Dragoons Mounted, According to Military Traditions, on Horses of One Color". 36 has two black and white pictures (Picture of "Transporting horses of the German Army across a river in Bavaria") above and ("French cavalry on the march through Ay.) below the text which starts as 'of, the Socialists that'... Pages 298 and 299, have lower cityscapes with square cutout images with chunks of sky around their roofs. This is also done on pictures for pages 312, 313, 314 with the same chunks of sky around the edges of the pictures.
