The Cinderella secret

Kathleen and Frances Forrester's summer starts off with two unexpected highlights: they befriend Mary Jane Smith, the sad, overworked orphan living in the mansion next door with her uncaring uncle and aunt, and their father returns from his job in China, bringing his new assistant, a worn out refugee of the Russian Revolution.
