When Katy West had the unexpected opportunity of singing in David Lloyd's cantata, she was ecstatic. She had no idea that David would be conducting his own piece. An exacting and temperamental taskmaster, he openly criticized her technique. She was further confused by his obvious interest in her, especially since she was positive that he had other commitments.
