Louis Sachar

Louis Sachar ( SAK-ər; born March 20, 1954) is an American author. He is best known for the Wayside School series and the novel Holes. Holes won the 1998 U.S. National Book Award for Young People's Literature and the 1999 Newbery Medal for the year's "most distinguished contribution to American literature for children". In 2013, it was ranked sixth among all children's novels in a survey published by School Library Journal.

Description

Angeline, 8 ans, vit seule avec son père, après la noyade de sa mère quand elle avait 3 ans. C'est une petite fille surdouée qui a sauté 3 classes mais qui a du mal à communiquer avec son père. Elle a des difficultés à s'adapter et devient la risée des autres élèves. Elle se réfugie au milieu des aquariums du Musée océanographique. Un jour, elle sympathise avec un garçon prénommé Barry.
