Silver stream

When Silver Stream, the son of the Waterloo Cup winner, begins to gambol with hares instead of chasing them, his trainer suspects he has a yellow streak. But Silver Stream pursues the mechanical hare with the same zest as the other greyhounds. Very soon he is drawing huge crowds, not only to see his racing, but to watch his cavortings with his favourite hare, Jane, in the middle of the stadium. A short novel in light verse.
