Description
'Neaptide', first performed in 1986 at the Cottesloe National Theatre, London, is a modern story framed around the ancient myth of Demeter and her daughter Persephone. Claire is a history teacher at a local school where two teenage girls have come out and their principal is aiming to have them expelled. Claire, who had been hiding the fact that she is homosexual, speaks up on their behalf, despite fighting her ex-husband for custody of their precocious and happy daughter.
