Maddy West and the tongue taker

At nine-and-a-half Maddy West can speak every language in the world, a skill her mother finds weird--but when Maddy is asked to translate some ancient scrolls in Bulgaria, she and her ten-year-old friend Kazuki find themselves on a wild adventure with a mysterious monkey, a Bulgarian wrestler, evil magic, and a fiendish witch.
