Robert Anthony Salvatore (born January 20, 1959) is an American author best known for The DemonWars Saga; and The Legend of Drizzt, for which he created the popular character Drizzt Do'Urden; and Vector Prime, the first novel in the Star Wars: The New Jedi Order series. He has sold more than 15 million copies of his books in the United States alone and twenty-two of his titles have been New York Times best-sellers.

Description

In sylvan shadows is the second novel in a new series (the cleric quintet, set in the forgotten realms tm fantasy world) involving a young scholar-priest Cadderly, who is cloistered away in an ancient library in the mountains. Trouble has spread from his home to a neighboring forest, where the resident elves are being slaughtered & their ruling prince placed in jeopardy. Cadderly must stop the onslaught, but even his powerful companions cannot shelter him from the trials he must face. Salvatore also wrote canticle, the first book in this series, as well as the ice wind dale trilogy & the dark elf trilogy. These include New York Times bestsellers the Crystal Shard & Sojurn respectively. He has a fast-paced, rollicking style that is immensely popular, but also presents extremely strong characters that the readers come to admire & respect.
