Description

The book by a former Rector of Plymtree is intended to support a theory that a set of panels on the roodscreen of Plymtree church represets Henry VII, Prince Arthur and Cardinal Morton. Unfortunately for Rev Mozley, this contention is devoid of satisfactory supporting evidence, and Rev Hay, a later Rector of Plymtree demonstrates that a key "evidence" - the Rebus of Cardinal Morton, is not what Mr Mozley claims that it is. There are some incidental parts of the book tha do have some historical value, such as a transcript of John Land's will, but the book is a good example of the sort of fanciful conjecture to which some Antiquarians of the period were often prone.
