It seems easy enough for James Fox to convince rancher Amos McRae that for $60,000 the mineral spring on his land could be converted into a spa that would attract a railroad into Stick City. When things go wrong, Fox is in a situation that requires all his wits to come out alive. Two deaths threaten to expose his identity--a turn of events that could put him at the wrong end of a hangman's noose.
