Facing the world, or, The haps and mishaps of Harry Vane

Orphaned at sixteen, Harry runs away from the miserly cousin who would be his guardian and becomes assistant to a magician, with whom he sets sail for Australia, facing great danger heroically when their ship is caught in a storm.
