Dana family papers

The collection consists of correspondence, writings, printed material, lectures, notebooks, and miscellanea concerning family members and the scientific papers of James Dwight and Edward Salisbury Dana in the fields of geology, mineralogy, and natural science. The papers are arranged in four series with each series containing the papers of an individual family member: Series 1. James Dwight Dana (1813-1895); Series 2. Edward Salisbury Dana (1849-1935); Series 3. James Dana (1780-1860); and Series 4. Maria Trumbull Dana (1867-1961.
