Critical issues in global health

A compendium of knowledge and thought on important health issues facing the world's populations. Contributors represent a wide range of health organizations and institutions including the World Health Organization, the National Academy of Science, the US Centers for Disease Control, and the American Public Health Association. They explore the future of international health and explain what will be required to provide adequate health and medical care worldwide, especially for underdeveloped countries. Koop, former Surgeon General of the US under President Reagan, is senior scholar of the C. Everett Koop Institute at Dartmouth College, and professor of surgery at Dartmouth Medical School.
