After the death of her great-uncle, Eleanor Stewart left her native England for the Greek island of Rhodes to take over the house which he had willed her. Here on this sun-blessed island she discovered a destiny that she had not foreseen. Her great-uncle and her grandmother had arranged a marriage for her--a marriage with a foreigner she had never met and who mocked her twentieth-century ideas of free choice.
