A Third World proletariat?

The countries of the Third World are increasingly being drawn into the economic orbit of the Western World. Their manufacturing sectors are developing, often quite rapidly; so too are their public service sectors. Their metropolitian cities are growing at phenomenal rates. But two thirds of the population of these cities may be described as the 'urban poor'
