The Invisible People
This Anchorage Press publication is the script and score of a wonderful musical play for children, about a 5-6 year-old girl who has several imaginary friends. During the last week of summer vacation they have many adventures together, but as her first day of school approaches her thoughts begin to turn to other, "older kid," things, and her charming friends Nubbins and Glopp and the crew of "invisible people" must find another child to befriend -- one who believes in them, or else it won't work. The plot is touching, the songs utterly charming and singable -- they remain in your head long after seeing this show. The play has seen over 80 productions across the USA since its initial appearance in 1967. All local theater companies should give this show a whirl -- they and their young audiences will love it!
Chinaberry
The saga of Chinaberry tells of a sprawling plantation on the Mississippi; a place rife with blazing ambitions, forbidden desires and scandalous secrets, meshed together in a web that ensnare all who come within its reach. Daughter of the landowner, Julia Douglas, grows dangerously close to her "personal slave boy," Darby, with disastrous results for both of them. Will he ever forget her? Certainly she'll never forget him . . . the twist ending will leave you shaking your head in wonder.
Journey to quiet waters (v. 2)
This is volume 2 in a 3-volume series following the Hargrave family from the banks of the post-Civil-War Mississippi through the cross-country migration West to eventual settlement in Spanish California. Volume 1 (Children of the River) and Volume 3 (The Fields Above the Sea), both widely available via online sellers, complete the epic story.
Flight of the seabird
This hauntingly beautiful novel is woven from three threads. It is a hard look at a modern marriage gone bad, careening toward its inevitable destruction; it is an ode to the free-spirited souls of the world with their fragile, sometimes pathetic, idealism; and it is a lyrical tale of an appealingly shy and lonely young woman, Meg Hannah, and of how she is inspired to take her first courageous steps toward self-fulfillment. Then, one sunny Sunday morning, she comes face-to-face with a stranger, and her life is changed forever....
Children of the River
First in a 3-volume series following the Hargrave family from the banks of the Mississippi in the post-Civil War South across the United States in the great westward migration, and ending up in San Francisco, California (in vol. 3, The Fields Above the Sea. Children of the River tells the tale of young Lucius Hargrave, bitten by wanderlust, who strikes out for a life on a Mississippi riverboat -- and soon confronts a world of gamblers, hucksters and con-men . . . and romance.
Fields Above the Sea

Final volume in a 3-vol. set following the Hargrave family from the banks of the post-Civil War Mississippi across the United States in the great Westward migration, all the way to Spanish California. Aftershocks
RIGHT PLACE, WRONG TIME When Dr. Elliot Mallory met Georgina "George" Hathaway, almost everything seemed to be right. They liked the same jokes, shared a love of sports, and the chemistry that drew them together was the most powerful he'd ever known. But the one thing that was wrong was very wrong, at least in Elliot's mind: she was young and just beginning her career. If she tied herself to him now she'd be cheated out of all that the future could hold. He had every intention of doing the noble thing and telling her goodbye, but George had a very disconcerting way of lingering in his heart. Related Books - 3 - 1
