STEWART H. BENEDICT, with degrees from Drew University and Johns Hopkins, taught at New York University, Michigan Tech, Jersey City State College, Rutgers, and City College of New York. He edited young-adult anthologies for Dell Publishing. His articles on modern American, English and European literature have appeared in leading scholarly magazines.
