This comprehensive review of Turkey's health care system shows that health status has improved rapidly in Turkey in recent decades, partly as a result of higher health spending. It describes the introduction of an ambitious Health Transformation Program in 2003 which brought universal health insurance to Turkey in 2008 and has begun the process of public hospital reforms and the rolling out of family-practitioner services throughout the country. Challenges remain, however, including completing the Health Transformation Program and ensuring that the new health system provides value for money and stays affordable. This report analyzes these challenges and sets out policy suggestions aimed at addressing them.--Publisher's description.

Nişanyan Sözlük, çağdaş Türkçe kelime hazinesinin kökenlerine ilişkin en kapsamlı ve en güvenilir bilimsel kaynaktır. Sözlerin Soyağacı adıyla ilk kez 2002’de basılmış, genişletilen ve gözden geçirilen basımları 2004 ve 2009’da gerçekleştirilmişti. Elinizdeki yeni basım, bir kısmı son derece güç koşullar altında gerçekleştirilen altı yıllık yoğun bir çalışmanın ürünüdür. Yeni basımın en önemli özelliği, tarihî metinlerden derlenen 22.000’i aşkın metin örneğidir. Her sözcüğün Türkçede tespit edilebilen en erken tanıklıklarını temsil eden bu metinler, yazılı Türkçenin evrimine ilişkin eşsiz bir kaynak sağlamaktadır. Yeni basıma iki bini aşkın yeni madde başı eklenmiştir. Madde altında yer verilenlerle birlikte, halen sözlükte 31.700 dolayında Türkçe sözcük bulunmaktadır.
