Kathleen Margaret "Kit" Pearson CM (née le 30 avril 1947) est une écrivaine canadienne et lauréate de nombreux prix de littérature. Pearson a écrit les romans The Sky Is Falling (1989), Looking at the Moon (1991), et The Lights Go on Again (1993), publiés en 1999 sous le titre The Guests of War Trilogy, et Awake and Dreaming (1996), qui ont remporté le Prix du Gouverneur général pour la littérature pour enfants en 1997. Elle a été nommée à l'Ordre du Canada en 2019.Pearson est née à Edmonton, en Alberta, et a passé son enfance entre cette ville et Vancouver, en Colombie-Britannique. En tant qu'étudiante, elle retourne à Vancouver pour recevoir ses études à la Crofton House School. Elle a obtenu un diplôme en littérature anglaise à l'Université de l'Alberta. En 1975, elle a commencé son diplôme de bibliothèque à l'Université de la Colombie-Britannique et a pris ses premiers emplois dans ce domaine en Ontario. Elle a ensuite obtenu un M.A. au Simmons College Center for the Study of Children's Literature à Boston. De retour à Vancouver, elle termine son premier roman The Daring Game qui est publié par Penguin Books. Pearson a déménagé à Victoria, en Colombie-Britannique, en 2005, où elle vit avec sa partenaire Katherine Farris.
