One fine day the circus came to town. The posters announced all sorts of amazing features, but the most sensational was the marvelous bareback act of the five Rollatinis and their wonder horse Ammonia. Now there was a sixth Rollatini, Bambino, who, above everything, wanted to be a bareback rider, too, but there was only one room for five on Ammonia's back. Everyone felt sorry for Bambino and suggested he try for another job in the circus. There were bears, there were clowns,lions, acrobats-Bambino tried working with them all, but what he wanted to do was be with his own family. The Five Rollatinis. Jan Balet has told of Bmbino's problem and its solution with hunor and sympathy. His brilliant pictures in full color, as well as those in two colors, capture the magic and activity of the small traveling circus.
