First she lost her memory … now she’s misplaced her heart. London society considers Lady Elizabeth Fairchild a tease and a flirt. And it is true that during her come-out she acted the part in her desperation to please her difficult mother. Then, after a nasty fall and a loss of memory, Beth resolves to be her caring and honest self. But instead of reclaiming her reputation, she finds it growing dangerously worse. A story is spreading that she broke the heart of a close friend of the Marquis of Meridan, the man she truly – but secretly – adores. Now her every action is misinterpreted and scandal nips at her heels. If only she could remember what happened between her and the young man who supposedly fled broken-hearted to his untimely death. If only she could see passion, instead of anger, in the eyes of the man she loves. Will her memory never return? And will the marquis ever see her as she truly is? Find out why Romance Writers of America made The Forgetful Lady a finalist for its prestigious Rita Award.

Devil-may-care Patti Lyon is a gambler at heart, cheerfully making ends meet by winning outlandish sweepstakes and wacky TV game shows. Stunning but straitlaced civic leader Alex Greene represents everything she rebels against--and he staunchly opposes her on legalizing local gambling. — Their head-on collision provokes explosive passion. But as Patti boldly teases forth Alex's more adventurous spirit, he roguishly tries to seduce her into respectability. Though laughingly breathless from their sensual parrying, Patti's afraid their wildly divergent values will turn their newfound love into a risky game of chance.
