Quiet little Dorrie doesn't like her scary new home, or the way her mother spends all her time locked away in her study writing a novel, or that her sisters and brother spend all their time with their new friends and never play with her anymore. But up in the attic, Dorrie finds a treasure trove of abandoned toys. Now she spends all her time playing with her new dolly. Her new dolly has only one eye, but her skin is as smooth and soft as a real baby's, and when Dorrie breathes into the tiny hole in Dolly's mouth, Dolly becomes more alive. Dolly learns to crawl downstairs, and how to hide under beds, and how to steal people's breath away.
