Binary Star, no. 2
The Twilight River Werewolves, Vampires, and magicians mingle uneasily with the enslaved humans of Earth's far future, chattels of the alien Rangels. Dreadful Sam, the music man, and Trina, the warlock's daughter, fleeing the wrath of the Rangels, voyage down the Twilight River in search of the Lair of Free Men -- the last hope of human dignity in a ruined world. The Tery Far across the Galaxy an ancient battle is fought once more, with new combatants: the furry, four-footed -- yet disturbingly human -- teries, and there human persecutor, tyrannical leader of a fanatic religious sect. One tery dares to face the enemy with the ultimate heresy -- asserting his identity as a man. This pair of new short novels by two of today's most talented science fiction writers makes up the second book in Dell SF's exciting series... BINARY STAR. Each BINARY STAR contains two works by major authors -- outstanding reprints or specially commissioned originals -- with illustrations ... and, as a special bonus, an afterword by each author on his fellow star's story.
