Rider of Death Valley
"There have always been plenty of rumors about Death Valley. A poisoned watering hole. Hostile Indians. A legendary lost gold mine. A herd of ghostly golden horses kept by a beautiful woman. Most people just avoid the place. But Johnny Lightfoot changes that when he rides into the nearby town of Mormon Lake. He has an unnaturally fast horse and a gold nugget that matches ore from the lost mine. Suddenly the race is on to see who will be the first to the riches--and who will be the first to4 see Death Valley live up to its name"--Cover verso.
The wild bunch
Frank goodnight rides to avenge his sister's betrayal by a man and runs into a fight between two factions. Two strong women compete for him. The story is not as gripping as some of other novels by haycox in my opinion.
Man from Wyoming
Clayton Hawks has returned to Powder Springs, Wyoming, to settle some rustling problems on the Lazy B Ranch. Sam Hawks, Clay's father and owner of the Lazy B, stayed behind in Boston, offering Clay the ranch in return for solving the problem. What Clay finds though, is a lot worse than he expected. He discovers mismanagement, corruption and out and out lawlessness. He's determined to clean up the ranch in his own way ... a way that could get him killed if his enemies have anything to say about it.
Arizona cowboys
A portrait of the daily life of cowboys includes descriptions of a rodeo, a cattle round-up, stampedes, anda range war.
